The YWS Foundation is supporting a major solo exhibition by artist Mire Lee at the Wiener Secession in Vienna, Austria, one of the world's leading contemporary art institutions. Founded by Gustav Klimt and boasting over 120 years of history, the Secession remains one of the most historic museums driving experimentation and challenges in contemporary art.

Running from June 25 to August 30, 2026, this exhibition marks Mire Lee's largest solo presentation in Austria to date. Lee, who has garnered intense global attention for her exploration of the tensions between machinery, the body, and psychology, unveils a new, large-scale immersive installation that completely traverses the museum's main exhibition hall.

Utilizing cement mixers, pump systems, and salvaged wooden construction panels, the artist has erected a colossal structure inside the gallery. Inside, substances like rust, mud, and fluids constantly flow and circulate, mimicking a living mechanism. Through this, she presents a dynamic artistic experiment that defies fixed imagery, offering new possibilities for contemporary sculpture.

Having already proven her unique capabilities at major venues such as Tate Modern in London and the New Museum in New York, Lee’s exhibition on one of Europe’s premier stages will further expand the discourse of Korean contemporary art within the global art scene.
