The YWS Foundation is proud to support the exhibition Liberation Space: Fortress/Nest, showcased at the 2026 Venice Biennale—the world’s most prestigious art festival, often referred to as the Olympics of the art world.
This project is helmed by Artistic Director Binna Choi, a curator actively engaged on the international stage. It features two leading figures of contemporary Korean art: Goen Choi, Hyeree Roh. Through their distinct practices spanning sculpture, installation, and performance, the two artists will present deep artistic discourses rooted in contemporary perspectives on space, memory, and the coexistence of humanity and the environment.
Held across the Giardini and Arsenale areas in Venice, Italy—where art professionals and visitors from around the globe gather—this exhibition will serve as a crucial platform to broaden the spectrum of Korean contemporary art and expand its engagement with the global art community.
Through this support, the Ywon Sun Foundation hopes to promote the international capabilities of outstanding Korean artists and foster vibrant, cross-border cultural exchanges and connections through art. We ask for your interest and support for this grand six-month journey, which runs from May 9 to November 22, 2026.
